What We Learned Today...October 1st

All our great memories so far this year!

ELA: Today we started the day out with our usual period of silent reading from 9:00 - 9:30 before moving on to the Pandora's Box assignment.  We are currently up to 9.8 AR Points Per Student and are only 0.2 points away from our goal.  We will do a final calculation on Monday morning at 9:30 and if we have reached our goal we will celebrate with a movie party during the afternoon on Wednesday.  Students, if you have not taken an AR test yet, be sure to finish your books up over the weekend and take a test first thing Monday morning so you can join in our party!

Health: We officially started our new unit on Building Safe and Healthy Relationships by looking at what it means to be Emotionally and Mentally Healthy as well as what makes us who we are.

Religion: After lunch the students were given the period to work on their Creation Story assignments as well as their Pandora's box assignments because they internet was down for a while this afternoon.

Math: We started the class off with a brief Socrative quiz on the 3.3 lesson before students began working on the textbook assignment from Pg. 99.  (Full assignment can be seen below)

Assembly: During the last hour of the day we headed to the gym for our first Month End assembly of the year where we witnessed the first batch of AR prize winners and the joy's of the new SWPBS wheel.

*It's hard to believe we're already into October! I'm not sure where the first month of the year went as it seems like it was only yesterday the students were walking into the school for the first day of school.  I guess the old adage is true, time truly flies by when you're having fun! I can honestly say that I've had a blast so far this year as we have such an amazing group of students in our class.  I'm really looking forward to all the wonderful memories we will make over the next nine months!

Have a great long weekend.
