What We Learned Today...May 29th

The end of our "Wheel of Mis-Fortune"

ELA: This morning we started out our day with a quick assembly before the students started working on their On Demand Writing Assessment.

Science: Today we had a double Science period testing out the plasticine boats that the students designed last week.  The challenge was to create a boat that could hold the most pennies without sinking.  Our winning boat held a remarkable 214 pennies!

Math: Students put their new knowledge of probability to the test by participating in an hour long game of "Wheel of Mis-Fortune".  In this activity, students were tasked with identifying various probabilities for all the flavours in package of "Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans", and at one point, actually taste testing one of the jelly beans.
