What We Learned Today...October 1st

Just finished up the meditation!

This morning we started out the day quite similar to yesterday as all the Grade 7's headed to Ms. Zenuks room while the Grade 8's stuck around to begin their Persuasive Writing Assessment.  Students spent the entire hour researching and drafting their Essays, while the Grade 7's did the the same thing for their Expository Essay's in Ms. Zenuk's room. At 10:35 Ms. Postma stopped by for Arts. Ed and the students examined several paintings and continued to learn how to effectively critique art.  From 11:15 to 11:55 we spent some more time working on our Harry Potter Unit by finishing up the second Blog Post as well as the chapter 5 and 6 response questions.

After lunch we had Religion and the students participated in a Guided Meditation that focused on personal happiness as well as the happiness of others.  I was so impressed with how amazing everyone was with the mediation as it was the first time we have tried anything like it this year.  Well done everyone!   At 1:30 we headed to the gym for the Kindergarten Liturgy and celebrated with all the kindergarten students as they were formally welcomed to Deshaye.  During the last hour of the day the students had French with Ms. Bachiu and they continued to learn about the parts of the school.
