What We Learned Today...October 21st

Working hard on their hero assignment!

ELA: Following AR, students were given four lists of adjectives and were tasked with identifying which ones could best be attributed to our list of heroes from last class.  Once they completed their lists, students were then given an assignment in partners that will require them to find a Youtube video that depicts an everyday hero.

Religion: Now that we've wrapped up our Creation Story Projects, we've now shifted our focus to Saints.  Over the next month we will be looking at the numerous Saints and the process involved when someone is canonized as a Saint.  Today we briefly looked at the canonization process and students were then tasked with researching the Saint of their choice for their next project.

Math: Students were given the entire period to finish up their 3.5 problem solving assignment and work on the Unit Review and Practice Test from their text books.

Science: During the last hour of the day we briefly reviewed the terms "Decomposer" and "Scavenger" before the students created their own "Decomposer in a bag" using bread, water and cottage cheese.
