What We Learned Today...September 12th
Today we started out the morning with a 3 minute spiritual retreat during Religion class that focused on the Parable of The Good Samaritan as well as doing the right thing. In ELA we continued our "Step Up" unit by reading the story "What's Wrong With Playing Like A Girl?". After reading, we moved all the desks to the sides of the room and had a Fishbowl discussion regarding the impact the main character had by stepping up, Sexism (especially the term "playing like a girl") and other gender stereotypes that have existed or still exist in athletics today.
After Lunch the students spent a half hour with Ms. Norris in Arts. Ed and worked on completing their Art Portfolios. During French we reviewed basic words and phrases such as: The Days of the Week and Months, Bonjour, Comment Ca Va? Bonsoir etc. For the last hour of the day the students had Phys. Ed and worked on Ladder Drills with Ms. Norris.
