What We Learned Today...December 7th

Something the students saw a lot of during our game today!

ELA: After we arrived back from our Advent liturgy there was only a half hour left in our ELA period, so the students were given the rest of the class to silently read their AR book.

Religion: Students were given the period after Arts. Ed as well as the period after lunch to work on their Advent Calendars.  These assignments will be due on the last day of classes, December 18th.

Math: Today we spent some time working on the 5.3 Socrative quiz before beginning the Surface Area assignment from Pg. 179.  Due to the fact that this is typically one of the hardest units in Grade 8 Math, I have strongly encouraged the students to ask for help right away if they are having difficulty with any of the concepts.

Staff vs. Student Volleyball Game: During the last hour of the day we had our annual "Staff vs. Student Smackdown" against the boys and girls volleyball teams.  The students played a fantastic game, but unfortunately were unable to come away with a victory, that is unless you count some very questionable score keeping!
