What We Learned Today...October 3rd

The Grade 8's working hard on their assessment!
First thing this morning, the Grade 7's headed to Ms. Zenuk's room for their Expository Assessments, while the Grade 8's stayed behind to complete the last day of their Persuasive Writing Assessments. Once the recess bell rang, you could hear a collective sigh of relief from all our students (and teachers) as they have now finished up all their system assessments for the beginning of the year!
At 10:35 Ms. Postma stopped by for Arts. Ed and they worked on their guild assignments. In Health we kicked off our Body Image unit by discussing what exactly Body Image is, investigated the three different body types as well as stereotypes that males and females face.

After lunch we had a half hour of AR due to the fact that the students missed their regular time this morning.  In Grade 8 Math we continued to look at the Pythagorean Relationship and the students finished up their textbook assignments from yesterday and began to work on the 3.2 handout. During the last hour of the day we had Science and we briefly talked about the different parts of a shadow before looking at the Law of Reflection.
