What We Learned Today...September 20th

Making Popcorn People!

Smile!
This morning we began the day with the usual AR period from 9:08 - 9:08.  *We are now up to 2.4 AR Points Per Student and with 2 weeks to go, I'm positive we'll reach our goal of 10 Points.  After AR we headed to Ms. Sutherlands classroom to meet our little buddies in kindergarten.  Once everyone found their buddy they began to create a "Popcorn" person using construction paper and well, Popcorn of course!  I was so impressed with how awesome the Grade 7/8's did with the kindergarteners today.  Each and every student did an excellent job and I think some students really did learn that patience is a virtue! I know the kindergarteners really enjoyed meeting their new "Big Buddies" and had a great time. Well done guys!

In Grade 8 Math the students were given the hour to work on their 2.3 assignment as well as a practice test to help them prepare for our Unit Exam next week.  *Don't forget that we have a quiz on Monday, September 23rd with the Unit Test on Thursday, September 26th.

After lunch the students had Phys. Ed with Mr. Fuchs and they participated in some circuit training before playing a game of their choice.  At 1:38 we went down to Ms. Sutherlands room again to meet our little buddies from the P.M. Kindergarten class.  The students were paired up with new students and once again worked with their buddies to create "Popcorn People".  During the last hour of the day the students had Social Studies and looked Canadian Identity and how it may change in the different parts of our countrty.
