What We Learned Today...May 31st

Our Mother Teresa Award Winners!
This morning we began our day with a breif AR period from 9:00 -  9:30 before moving on to ELA.  Student were given the entire hour of ELA to finish up their storyboards for the Fake Movie Trailer Assignment.  Most groups finished this up within the first 15 minutes of the period and began to rehearse their trailers so they will be ready to film on Monday using iPads courtesy of Miller Comprehensive High School.  Instead of Phys. Ed today we had our school wide month end assembly in the gym and students were recognized for accomplishments in AR,and Track as well as Mother Teresa Awards.  I would like to congratulate Khadeeja, Matt and Althea for winning the award this month!

After lunch we had a brief Social Studies period and students spent time completing their Colonization Simulation duotangs.  At 1:00 we headed down to the gym to watch the Eagle Claw Dancers perform for the entire school.  We were very fortunate to have them come out today as it really ties in perfectly with what we learned about First Nations culture during our Social Studies Unit.  During the last hour of the day the students were given the opportunity to either work on their "Clouds" Blog Post or spend the hour working on some extra math using IXL.

*The three grade 7/8 classes will be going to the University of Regina on Wednesday June 5th for a wellness morning.  The students will need to bring a bathing suit and towel for this trip as they will also be going in the pool.
