Getting their hands dirty during our dissection. |
ELA: We started out our morning with the final Today's Meet chat with our fellow schools in the Dystopian Book Club. As per the usual, the students did a fantastic job with this activity and really impressed me with their insightful responses.
Career Ed: Students were given the entire period to work on their Essential Skills Career Brochure.
Dissection: This afternoon we had our unknown fish dissection. For this dissection students were not told the type of fish they were working with and as a result will have to do some researching next class to figure it out. As you will notice from the pictures below, the students had the opportunity to dissect the head, the tongue, the eyes, the stomach, sex organs and the fins. I was very impressed not only how great of a job everyone did today but also how well they were able to draw conclusions about their specimen based off what they saw and touched. Well done everyone!
Special Note for Stations of the City:
On
Wednesday, March 23, 2016, our class will be participating in an
exciting project called “Stations of the City”. This activity will take
place in downtown Regina starting at Holy Rosary Cathedral and ending at Goose
Hill in Douglas Park. It will run from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. This
project is very meaningful as it will allow students to retrace the path that
Christ followed on his journey to crucifixion, a journey that he took for our
salvation. By engaging physically and spiritually in this two hour
project, it is our hope that Christ’s Easter promise will become more real to
our students and bring them to reflect upon what Jesus endured for us during
the last hours of His life.
