What We Learned Today...January 4th

Teaching us how to Break Dance!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to the new year! It's scary to think that we only have another 6 months of Grade 8 left, but we are definitely going to make the most of it as we have so many fun things planned for the rest of the year!

Genius Hour: Due to flu outbreak we had before the break, many students were unable to present their final projects with the class so we spent some time today to finish up all presentations. I am so impressed with how amazing of a job the students did with these presentations.  It was evident that a lot of time and effort went into these projects and I can't wait to see where their next project takes them over the next few months!

Religion: We took some time today to talk about the true meaning of Christmas by watching the short video, "The Other Christmas Gift".  After watching, students were tasked with writing a short response as to how they saw the true meaning of Christmas displayed in the video.

Check out the full video below:

Math: Since we completed our unit on Surface Area right before the break, we spent today's class reviewing all these concepts so students will be ready to go for their Unit Exam on Thursday.
